Smarties Academy a full Spanish immersion Preschool is seeking a passionate and dependable Baker/Chef to join our school community! This role is responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals and baked goods for children and staff while maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment. Responsibilities Include:
• Preparing healthy meals and baked goods according to menus, allergies, and special diets
• Supporting school events and celebrations with food preparation
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
• Collaborating on menu planning, inventory, and kitchen organization
• Supporting and guiding kitchen assistants/substitutes
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in food preparation and kitchen operations
• Valid ServSafe Certification
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and meet physical demands of the position
• Must clear Bright from the Start Comprehensive Background Check
Preferred:
• Culinary training or degree in a related field
• Experience in childcare, school, or large-group meal preparation
• Spanish is a plus
