We are retiring 2 of our pack goats. Free to a good home. They probably still have a couple of years of packing light loads (perhaps 20-25 lbs. depending on conditioning) for slower paced hikers. They are good goats on the trail and could be used to train younger goats. They would also make good pets/companion animals (although they would probably prefer to be pets at this point:) . They are both very friendly 9 year old Oberhasli’s with mild temperaments and do well with kids.
Curly is used to being herd boss, so can be a bit of a bully to other goats and he does have horns. He does good with Dobby because they grew up together. Our other goats mostly just get out of his way. He is exceptionally sweet with humans. One down side to Curly is that he has always had skin that breaks easily, so cuts are not uncommon and he has more than a few scars. His skin has been much better the last year with a mineral buffet, and he benefits from extra oil/vitamin E. He loves black sunflower seeds.
Dobby is the quirkiest and funniest goat we’ve ever had. He gets along with all of our goats, though he is also fine being a loner. He’s been a favorite with our nieces and nephews. He was born without horns.
Please message with questions or for more details. These guys have been with us since babies and have been great pack goats for us, so we would really love for them to go to a home that loves them as much as we do.
