Position Overview
The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field installation activities for Signature Millwork projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
As Signature Millwork’s primary on-site representative, the Field Superintendent works closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, Architects, Installers, Shop Personnel, and Customers to deliver exceptional craftsmanship while maintaining strong relationships throughout every phase of the project.
This role requires a proactive leader who anticipates challenges, solves problems before they impact the schedule, and consistently upholds Signature Millwork’s commitment to quality, integrity, safety, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all on-site installation activities.
Direct company installers and subcontracted installation crews.
Ensure crews understand daily priorities and project sequencing.
Maintain productivity while upholding quality standards.
Mentor and develop installation personnel.
Jobsite Coordination
Act as Signature Millwork's primary representative on-site.
Attend coordination meetings with General Contractors.
Coordinate with other trades.
Verify jobsite readiness before installation begins.
Resolve field conflicts and sequencing issues.
Communicate schedule impacts immediately.
Quality Assurance
Ensure all installations meet shop drawings and architectural plans.
Verify AWI standards where applicable.
Inspect work throughout installation—not just at completion.
Identify deficiencies before customer inspections.
Manage punch lists through completion.
Pre-Installation Planning
Review shop drawings.
Verify dimensions and field conditions.
Perform field measurements when required.
Confirm blocking, backing, framing and substrate conditions.
Coordinate deliveries with production and logistics.
Schedule Management
Enforce OSHA compliance.
Conduct toolbox talks.
Ensure PPE usage.
Maintain clean work areas.
Report incidents immediately.
Stop unsafe work when necessary.
Documentation Responsibilities
Record site activities, manpower, and progress accurately each day.
Capture and organize visual updates to document installation milestones.
Monitor crew hours and productivity to ensure efficiency and accountability.
Identify and report shortages promptly to avoid project delays.
Submit clear, timely RFIs to resolve the design or scope of discrepancies.
Verify dimensions and conditions to maintain installation accuracy.
Document completed work and note any deviations from plans.
Track and manage outstanding items through punch list completion.
Compile final reports, warranties, and as-built records for project turnover.

Required Skills & Competencies
7+ years commercial architectural millwork experience.
3+ years supervising installation crews.
Strong understanding of commercial construction.
Ability to read architectural and millwork shop drawings.
Experience installing:
Casework
Plastic laminate
Wood veneer
Solid surface
Wall panel systems
Reception desks
Specialty millwork
Strong blueprint reading.
Excellent communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout an 8–10-hour workday.
Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
Navigate active commercial construction sites safely.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Travel throughout Texas and surrounding states as project needs.

Pay Range: Based on experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday 6AM-2:30PM, Full-Time; overtime available based on production demand

Work Environment
This role is performed in a production millwork shop with regular exposure to wood dust, adhesives, machinery noise, and finishing materials. PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks and steel/composite toed shoes are required and provided. The work environment is collaborative and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, teamwork, and quality production.
Due to the nature of the work environment, pre-employment drug testing is required to ensure a safe and productive workplace.
