Property Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking retired or semi-retired architects and engineers interested in flexible, project-based work throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals who want to remain active in the industry without committing to a fixed schedule. You may accept as many or as few assignments as you want based on your availability, experience, interests, and preferred travel area.
Potential assignments include:
• Reserve study property inspections and report preparation
• Property condition and Fannie Mae inspections
• Community association compliance inspections
• General building and site evaluations
• Construction specification and scope-of-work preparation
• Photographic documentation and field reporting
Experience in every service area is not required. Assignments will be matched to each individual’s professional background and areas of expertise. For example, someone with extensive specification-writing experience may focus exclusively on specification and scope-of-work assignments without performing reserve studies or property inspections.
Compensation is paid on a per-project basis and varies according to the size, scope, and complexity of each assignment. The project requirements and compensation will be provided before you decide whether to accept an assignment. There are no required weekly hours or minimum number of assignments.
Ideal candidates will have:
• Professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction, building inspection, specification writing, or property evaluation
• Strong observational, organizational, and technical writing skills
• The ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within an agreed service area
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and digital photography
Reserve study and community association experience is helpful but not required. Training, report templates, and ongoing guidance will be provided.
To apply, please reply with a résumé or brief description of your professional background, general location, preferred travel area, areas of expertise, and current availability.
