Couple looking for work in exchange for a room (Plattsburgh, NY)

Hello,
We are a couple looking for a place to stay temporarily in exchange for housework (cooking... My favorite thing to do!, cleaning, laundry, repairs like painting, yard work, etc.).
I was previously an Elementary teacher and then stayed at home with my children for years. My boyfriend has a lot of experience with construction,maintenance and landscaping.
We are quiet, friendly, and very clean and organized.
We are currently tent camping, but it's getting cold! We refuse DSS or shelters. We were in Vermont, but my boyfriend lost his job due to his manager quitting and just not a good company to work for. Just a tough situation because we can't afford security deposit and first months rent all at once.
If it's a good fit, we would of course begin paying rent for a room. We are definitely not set on staying right in Plattsburgh if that helps as well
