A Coquitlam, BC family is looking for a kind, caring, reliable, and trustworthy caregiver to provide in-home support for our elderly father.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient, respectful, and takes pride in keeping a home clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The right person should genuinely enjoy helping seniors and be comfortable working independently in a family home.
Schedule:
• Starting 2 days per week
• Hours can be discussed based on availability and the needs of our father
• We expect to increase the hours/days over time as his needs develop
Main Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Home Care
• General cleaning and tidying of the home
• Vacuuming carpets and floors
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Dusting and wiping surfaces
• Cleaning the kitchen, including counters, appliances, sink, and dining area
• Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms
• Changing bed linens and making the bed
• Laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and putting clothes away
• Taking out garbage and recycling
• Keeping the home organized, clean, safe, and comfortable
• Noticing when household supplies are running low and letting the family know
Cooking & Meal Preparation
• Prepare fresh, nutritious, and home-style meals for our father
• Plan simple meals based on his preferences and dietary needs
• Ensure food is fresh and safely prepared
• We would especially appreciate someone who enjoys home cooking and can prepare a variety of simple, tasty meals
Companionship & Support
• Spend friendly and meaningful time with our father
• Talk with him and provide companionship
• Make sure he is comfortable and has what he needs
• Encourage regular meals, hydration, and daily routines
• Help keep him engaged with conversation, reading, television, walks, or other activities he enjoys
• Report any concerns about his wellbeing or changes in his routine to the family
