Your Woodlands Verbal Tutor
I am a professional tutor with a master’s degree and over 30 years of experience. I tutor English for adult internationals (American pronunciation, EFL, ESL, and ESOL) and the verbal parts of six standardized exams (ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, and TOEFL). I have worked one-on-one with over 300 clients from over 60 countries at client residences and workplaces and mutually convenient locations and online (via Google Hangouts/Meet, Skype, Webex, and Zoom).
WARNING!!! WHY THE TUTORING INDUSTRY IS A SCAM!!!
Disgusted by other tutoring services? There’s a reason for that: it’s a mafia. Tutoring and “test prep” companies (agencies, centers, and franchises) are motivated by one thing and one thing only, and that’s MONEY, and they’re run by people who are not even located in The Woodlands – but, instead, in places like Atlanta, Dallas, and New York. They care NOTHING about education and everything about lining THEIR pockets with YOUR money.
The only reason mainstream “test prep” programs work is that they force students to take the exam so many times that they just get used to it. They take the exam over and over again until it becomes routine. It’s rote learning – a habit that will go out the window the minute after the exam. They never teach any actual concepts. You pay thousands of dollars, and, ultimately, you (or your child) learns nothing.
The reason traditional tutoring programs are so expensive is that you pay primarily for pricy overhead in a wealthy neighborhood – not to mention the six-figure salaries of office bureaucrats who don’t know anything about anything. They rake in obscene profits – while they pay their tutors as little as $12 an hour. (You read that right.) They also BRIBE MINOR CHILDREN with “gift cards” in exchange for positive reviews: a practice that should be illegal.
The Lessons by Claire Difference
I am a native Houstonian, born and raised, located in The Woodlands area for almost a decade. I have decades of experience tutoring verbal subjects one-on-one for hundreds of clients from all over the world. Unlike my competitors I am not motivated by profit. I choose to tutor because I really care about education. I consider it the foundation of a civil society. I don’t teach exams, and I don’t teach “hacks.” I teach CONCEPTS. I INSPIRE all my clients with knowledge and information that they can apply throughout the rest of their lives.
