Looking for a developer to help build and finish a mobile social app for discovering and creating real-world events. The core idea is a live map (similar in feel to Uber or Waze) that shows current events as icons, with hosts who can build a following and attendees who can join events with privacy controls.
I’m not a coder, so I need someone who can take the concept, design decisions, and any existing work and turn it into a solid, working app (primarily targeting iOS). I’m open to different tech stacks and approaches — I care more about the end result being clean, maintainable, and something I can reasonably understand or work with later than locking into any specific tools.
Key things that matter for this role:
• Experience building or integrating a live / real-time map with custom icons or markers (this is a core part of the app)
• Familiarity with mobile social features (location tracking, profiles, following, event creation/joining, privacy settings)
• Ability to work with a non-technical founder, communicate clearly, and ship iteratively
• Bonus: prior work on location-based, maps-heavy, or event-style apps
Local candidates near Columbus, GA are preferred (occasional meetups would be helpful). Junior developers who can write clean code and learn quickly are welcome.
If interested, reply with:
1. A short intro and relevant experience (especially anything with maps or social/event apps)
2. Links to apps or code samples you’ve worked on
3. Your availability, location (local or remote), and preferred rate
4. Any questions you have about the project
