I have 5 adult parakeets (also known as budgies) up for adoption. Please see pictures for the color variations. Currently available, I have three male blue varieties, one yellow female, and an albino female.
Any of these parakeets will do fine with a home with other pets and/or children. They are familiar with being around other birds, e.g. cockatiels, in a bird room indoors and also they have experience living in an outdoor aviary during the warm months. I do not clip their wings, so be cautious if you are considering keeping them in an outdoor enclosure, other than a screened-in porch. They have been fed a top-notch diet of Zupreem pellets and occasional Nutriberries, cuttlebone or other calcium supplements always available, and they also love bits of lettuce or cilantro. Our avian vet is Dr. Ralph Pope with All Creatures.
These birds are assorted ages and none are babies. The albino and one of the males are bonded. If you take these two together as a pair, I will reduce the price to $25/bird. Neither of the females has ever laid an egg (which is a good thing, since egg laying can shorten their lives and cause vet visits).
If you are interested in a specific bird, feel free to request additional photos.
