I am too old now to do any more building or contracting.
Selling my custom rack.
It was fabricated to specifications for an 8-foot box, and built to specification.
There is angle iron where the unit attaches to the top of the box... so not only do you have contact with the top of your side rails, but you have a 2" lip INSIDE the sides of the box too. Very strong and stable!
There are 2 removable bars on the top that are bolted in, and can be removed or re-installed in a matter of minutes.
(This allows you to carry items that are taller than the height of the top rails on the rack.)
Or, leave the bars in, and you have a way to carry drywall in standard 8' lengths, or the longer lengths, out over the cab. Great for longer lumber too!
This is not some flimsy rack like you see on eBay, that are made out of lightweight steel.. This is a strong, solid working rack.
I am firm on the price. Bring larger "C" clamps for temporary transportation. There are already holes drilled where I had bolts to secure it to my Silverado..
Thanks for looking.
Firm on the price. (Go talk to a welding fabricator about what he would charge nowadays with the price of metal!
You can haul drywall, piping, lumber, etc, up to 12 feet in length or longer.
This might fit Dodge or Ford.. Measure the width between the sides of the box, and let me know what you have. I can go out and measure mine.
