This is a unique opportunity with flexible hours. We're a small 3rd party logistics company doing online retail and wholesale business in midtown Cleveland. We receive containers of product, pack and ship large replenishment orders and individual customer orders for ourselves and dropship for other clients. We're seeking a person with strong admin/management skills as well as warehousing skills for the following duties:
1. Inventory management (using finale software and scanner to keep track of the movements of inventory, monthly reporting of inventory levels, and inputting large orders, reporting.. basically being in charge of Finale.
2. Warehouse organization - We are frequently over capacity, and keeping the warehouse space as organized as possible is challenging. This includes using the forklift extensively
3. Stock taking (performing quarterly stock takes)
4. additional labor as needed. (during peak times, this will include helping with packing replenishment orders, and helping with container unloading (we hire a crew, but it's a big job 7 to 10 x per year)
5. General management; our warehouse is old - we occasionally need to move goods out of the way when roof leaks appear, remove large amounts of recycling, make sure the heaters are on, top up the forklift battery, etc..)
6. loading trucks with pallets (sometimes trucks come in the afternoon to collect orders and they need to be forklifted into the truck)
2k/month to start for roughly 5hours/day. To be reviewed after 6 months (Once everything is learned and I no longer need to come to the warehouse, the pay will increase). The shift is in the afternoon, but the start and end times are flexible. The business is somewhat seasonal, so there are weeks when you'll work more and weeks when you'll work less. it should average out to 4.5 to 5hours/day or less - you manage your own time with no supervision.
Requirements:
1. Attention to detail (none of the tasks are difficult, but they all need to be done with no mistakes)
2. Ability to manage your own time and tasks. (there will be no one managing you. You come in and get your work done with no oversight.)
3. Strong admin skills (I will want to see you use excel, type, and troubleshoot a computer issue during our interview)
4. Ability to drive a forklift. (we can teach you, but you have to become competent quickly)
5. Afternoon shifts (12 or 1 to 5 or 6)
6. ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly and spend hours on your feet (this job is very physical - almost every box is heavy)
The position is open and we're looking to hire immediately. We are an open, diverse, and affirming workplace - ALL are encouraged to apply.
To apply: Please put "Logistics Job" in the subject line (so I know you read the whole listing) and tell me why you're a good fit in the email body, and attach your resume / work history. I'm looking to hire immediately.
Thank you!
