Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (depending on experience levels)
Job Overview Seeking a proficient, safe, professional, and dependable CDL driver with a minimum of 2–3 years of CDL experience. Drivers will be used on various jobsites in the construction industry. Jobsites include mine sites, remote areas, and the Quad Cities. Over-the-road experience is not applicable. Drivers must be capable of working long hours and fit to perform manual work out of the truck on jobsites.
Key Responsibilities & Capabilities
• Transport heavy equipment, dump trucks, end dumps, water trucks, vac trucks, and material deliveries.
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Get out of the truck to perform physical labor on jobsites as needed.
• Operate manual shift transmission efficiently and safely.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and adhere to safety/maintenance protocols.
• Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy.
• Understand changes to assigned work areas and identify potential hazards to keep worksites clean, organized, and free of unnecessary hazards.
• Understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions.
• Work self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to observe, assess, and anticipate issues before they occur.
• Work in environments exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, and noise.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2–3 years of CDL experience.
• Valid CDL Driver’s License and current medical card.
• Clean 3-year driving record (must be insurable).
• Reliable transportation and strong dependability.
• Flexibility to stay late when necessary, with little or no notice.
• Ability to pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens (including marijuana).
• Full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE): hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, steel-toe rubber boots, protective clothing, gloves, and respirator as required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a mining or industrial environment is a plus.
• Qualified candidates may occasionally operate heavy equipment.
