I'm a young senior selling my 2007 Ford E150 cargo van, meticulously maintained, a solid squeaky clean West Coast beauty with hardly any rust
This is a well loved van that's been thoroughly looked after. It drives fantastically well with no issues
Over the last year we put about $10,000 of work and parts into our van because we were planning on keeping it for the next several years.
We never planned on selling it but life changes. We purchased a lovely townhouse and discovered that our van barely fits inside the garage
After all the work we had done by certified mechanic's we decided to sell it.
This work includes the following...
- new front brake pads, rotors, calipers
- repack the front wheel bearings
- 2 new oil seals
- 4 brand new catalytic converters (2 inline per side)
- 4 new Denso oxygen sensors
- 4 all-weather tires 235/65R16 ( has the mountain with the snow flake emblem on the side of the tires)
- new battery
- new EGR
- 8 new Denso ignition coils
- 8 new NGK platinum spark plugs
- new radio antenna
- new air conditioning condenser and a recharge of the air conditioning system
- new passenger side vent louver
- new steering wheel cover
- new seat covers
- new hubcaps
- new driver's outside mirror
- new wood floor
- new carpet throughout
- new air filter
- new fuel filter
- new ignition & 2 keys
- fresh new oil change
- new driver's outside mirror
- new brake fluid and flush system
- new driver's side door lock kit, modified to work with the new ignition
- new right front and right rear corner light assemblies
- repair rear doors so as to be able to open them from the outside
- new shifter tube and shifter shaft because the gear shifter linkage was sloppy
The transmission was rebuilt 90,000 kilometers ago in 2019 by JP Transmission in Surrey, long before I owned this van
The motor is a good dependable 4.6 L Triton V8 SOHC motor with a cast iron block, aluminum heads paired to a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive
This motor is rated at 225 horsepower and has 286 foot pounds of torque
My mechanic says it's likely the engine was either rebuilt or someone put in a low mileage motor.
He based this on it's seemingly like new condition and the fact that it doesn't leak a drop of oil or have any blowby.
In addition there's no red or amber warnings lights on or a check engine display light on the dash either
So, while there's not a lot of options, this van does have ...
- good functional air conditioning
- power steering
- power brakes
- power windows
- blue shaded windshield
- tilt steering
- drink holders
- fold down arm rests
- am/fm radio
- optional side and rear door windows
History wise, this van originated in Washington and was subsequently converted to kilometers after coming into Canada
It would have had to pass a stringent government safety inspection.
What I know is that since 2017 only 106,000 kilometers was put on it. Prior to 2017 I don't know how far it was driven
Now after all the work we've done, this van is in exemplary mechanical condition
It's too bad I have to sell it as it's just such a nice van to drive and I wouldn't mind keeping it forever.
However, again it just barely fits in our garage so I think for us, it makes sense to get something a little smaller
If you're interested in acquiring a good decent clean van that you can just hop in, drive and enjoy, then this is the one you don't want to miss.
