Position overview:
Provide excellent customer service assisting with operations of a self-storage facility
Position combines customer service, administrative duties, facility upkeep, and basic sales
Ideal candidate is dependable, professional, organized, and comfortable working independently
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
Answer phone calls, respond to customer inquiries
Provide information regarding units, agreements, payments, and policies
Assist with renting, transferring, and vacating units
Process rental agreements, payments, invoices, and other transactions
Maintain accurate records using computer systems and office software
Conduct walk-throughs and assist with locating storage units
Monitor facility access and follow security and safety procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable office and storage facility
Routine inspections of units, buildings, grounds, gates, and common areas
Light cleaning, sweeping, trash removal, and general facility upkeep
Assist with lock checks, unit checks, and preparing vacant units
Follow procedures for delinquent accounts, restrictions, and notifications
Basic sales activities, explaining available units, services, and features
Professional and courteous behavior for all interactions
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous customer service, retail, office, property management, or sales
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn management software
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle cash, payments, and customer transactions
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Dependable, punctual, and professional.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach and climb stairs
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40–50 pounds
Ability to perform routine cleaning and general facility maintenance tasks
