Olive egger hens hatched 03-25-26. They have been vaccinated for mareks. $45 each or 4/$170
This is my first year with these. They are nice chickens, docile and quiet. They are a pretty reddish color with gray, brown and black markings. They have nice personalities. They are laying...see the egg picture for olive colored eggs.
I have other hens (all laying) that are the same age and price so you can mix and match for a variety of egg shell colors (all showing in egg picture):
Brown Novogens - 6-7 russet brown shelled eggs per week
Chocolate eggers - 4-5 dark brown shelled eggs per week
Easter eggers - 5-6 blue shelled eggs per week (~ 85% of their eggs are blue, the rest are cream hues)
White novogens - 6-7 white shelled eggs per week
Ash (smoky gray chicken) - 5-6 brown shelled eggs per week
If you are looking for egg volume, you want brown or white novogens. If you want different colored eggs, a combination of some of the above chickens will give you a nice variety.
Info from the hatchery:
This is a cross between rooster with a dominant blue gene and Rhode Island Red hen
They didn't indicate the age at which they start laying. They aren't laying yet.
They should lay 5-6 large eggs per week
Egg shell color 85% percent will be a solid green while 15 to 20 percent will be a light to dark brown egg
They are tolerant of both cold and hot climates
Regarding communication and sales:
I use email to do communications to set up see/buy appointments. I have had poultry stolen when I used phone/text.
I don't monitor emails or sell on Sundays.
