Job Title: Sunday Bartender
Matilda Bar & Grille is looking for an experienced bartender to take over our main Sunday bartending shift, including NFL and Chicago Bears game days.
Shift: Sundays, approximately 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Location: 3101 N Sheffield Ave, Chicago (Lakeview)
Matilda is an independently owned and owner-operated neighborhood bar and grille that has been serving Lakeview since 1993. We have a loyal group of regulars along with sports, dining, and neighborhood traffic throughout the week.
We're looking for someone who can become a familiar face behind the bar every Sunday.
About the Shift
This is a consistent, high-earning Sunday shift for an experienced bartender who enjoys staying busy.
During football season, Matilda will open earlier for NFL and Chicago Bears games. An opening bartender will handle the early setup and pregame hours, with additional bartender coverage scheduled during the busiest game-day periods.
The main Sunday bartender will generally arrive around noon and stay through the end of the night.
Our previous Sunday shift typically generated $200–$400 in total earnings (hourly wage + tips). With expanded NFL Sunday hours and additional game-day traffic, we're looking for someone motivated to help us continue growing Sundays.
Opportunity for additional shifts may also be available.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
-Has solid bartending experience
-Is dependable and consistently available on Sundays
-Can confidently handle a bar independently once game-day support leaves
-Enjoys a busy sports-bar environment
-Works with a sense of urgency while staying organized
-Provides friendly and attentive service
-Builds relationships with regulars and new guests
-Is comfortable serving both bar and dining guests
-Keeps a clean, stocked, and organized bar
-Communicates well with kitchen staff, servers, other bartenders, and management
-Takes ownership of their shift instead of waiting to be told what needs to be done
We're looking for someone who is motivated, wants to make money, and understands that great hospitality and strong earnings go hand-in-hand.
Requirements:
-Previous bartending experience
-Illinois BASSET certification or ability to obtain
-Reliable Sunday availability
-Comfortable working approximately 12 PM–11 PM
-Ability to work independently
-Comfortable with high-volume NFL/Bears game-day service
