A George Oak Slant Front Desk, circa 1740 with later carving to the facade. The fall board and two short over two long drawers of the case all have cross banded edge and all-over carving, the fall board features a relief hunt scene with fox, hounds, horses and riders. The drawers have foliate carving and ornate rococo style pulls. The desk interior appears to be original and is not carved with pigeon holes over drawers and a prospect door, with oak secondary wood feet with some repair. Provenance: Penny Farthing Antiques, London England."
