Grill 225, Charleston's award-winning fine dining steakhouse located within the Market Pavilion Hotel, is seeking a polished, professional, and hospitality-driven Dining Host to join our team.
As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Dining Host plays a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with guests, thrive in a fast-paced luxury environment, and take pride in delivering outstanding service with attention to detail.
Position Responsibilities
Welcome guests warmly and create an exceptional first impression upon arrival.
Manage and coordinate dining room seating during dinner service.
Answer reservation inquiries and assist guests with booking requests.
Confirm reservations and guest arrivals by telephone.
Collaborate daily with restaurant management regarding seating plans and service flow.
Coordinate table assignments and seating arrangements to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Maintain and update guest profiles and reservation records within the reservation management system.
Communicate effectively with service staff, culinary team members, and management to ensure seamless operations.
Present menus, answer questions, and assist guests with dining inquiries.
Anticipate guest needs and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
Handle guest concerns, feedback, and special situations with professionalism and courtesy.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area.
Support the restaurant team in maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and service excellence.
Qualifications
Previous hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred.
Fine dining or luxury hospitality experience is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance, demeanor, and positive attitude.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining a strong guest-focused mindset.
