Position Summary
Fogco is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement & Inventory Specialist to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for purchasing materials and components, maintaining accurate inventory levels, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring production has the materials needed to meet customer demand.
The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, works well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and understands the importance of balancing inventory investment with production requirements.
Responsibilities:
Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies for manufacturing operations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
Create, issue, and manage purchase orders through completion.
Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stocking quantities.
Coordinate material availability with production schedules.
Track supplier performance and resolve shortages, quality concerns, and delivery issues.
Perform inventory reconciliations and assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records within the ERP system.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs while improving inventory performance.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, and Accounting to support company objectives.
Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience.
Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and vendor relationship skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Sage 100 experience is a plus).
Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience sourcing both domestic and international suppliers.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and production scheduling.
Experience with inventory planning, forecasting, and cycle counting.
APICS or other supply chain certification is a plus but not required.
