The Abbasid Caliphate silver dirhams, minted between 750 and 1258. These coins followed the Islamic tradition of featuring only inscriptions, avoiding images of rulers or figures. Typically, the obverse bore the Shahada, the name of Prophet Muhammad, and the mint location along with the date in the Hijri calendar. The reverse usually included a Quranic verse, most often Surah Al-Ikhlas, and the name of the ruling Abbasid caliph. The coins were produced by the hammering method which makes them non uniform.
The research I have done has been listed on the pictures as my opinion of the scripts on the coin. This is a nice historical piece.
