This is a short-term, high-pay opportunity to put your millwright skills to work during a 4-day saw mill shutdown in Centralia, WA — running September 4th through September 7th with 12-hour shifts straight through. If you're an experienced millwright looking to maximize your earnings over a focused, fast-paced outage, we want to hear from you.
Pay: Up to $38/hr (DOE)
Shift/Schedule: 4 days of 12 hours each (9/4–9/7)
Per Diem: No Per Diem
Responsibilities
*Perform millwright work throughout the duration of the saw mill shutdown, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of machinery.
*Align, install, and repair mechanical equipment such as shafts, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyors to manufacturer specifications.
*Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective repairs to minimize downtime during the outage window.
*Work safely and efficiently in an active industrial environment alongside other trades and shutdown crew members.
*Follow all site-specific safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
*Communicate equipment status and repair progress clearly with lead millwrights and site supervisors throughout the shutdown.
Qualifications
*Proven experience as a journeyman millwright in an industrial or sawmill setting — this is the top requirement for this role.
*Solid knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors, drives, pumps, fans, and related saw mill equipment.
*Proficiency with precision alignment tools, measuring instruments, and standard millwright hand and power tools.
*Familiarity with lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and industrial safety standards.
*Ability to work 12-hour shifts for 4 consecutive days and perform physically demanding tasks in an industrial environment.
*Must be available for the full outage window: September 4–7 in Centralia, WA.
