About Buttercloud Coffeehouse:
Buttercloud Coffeehouse is a new café from the team behind Medford's Buttercloud Bakery & Cafe. We’re bringing Buttercloud’s scratch-made biscuits, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and coffee program to Central Point.
We’re looking for an experienced, friendly, dependable Barista / Café Team Member who enjoys working with people and is comfortable wearing a few different hats during a busy shift.
This is not a traditional “stand behind the espresso machine all day” barista position. Our team is cross-trained, so you’ll work with espresso, French press coffee, pastries, biscuit sandwiches, grab-and-go food, POS, and customer service.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing things well, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and understands that great hospitality is about both the food and the experience.
What You'll Do:
Prepare espresso drinks, tea, and specialty beverages according to Buttercloud standards.
Prepare and serve our French press coffee program. We will teach you our coffee and beverage procedures.
Assemble and heat biscuit sandwiches and other café food items.
Stock and maintain the pastry and grab-and-go displays.
Take customer orders and operate our POS system accurately.
Provide friendly, attentive service and help create a welcoming café environment.
Answer questions about our food, coffee, pastries, and retail products.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
Keep the counter, dining area, beverage station, and food-prep areas clean and organized.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
Restock supplies and help keep the café running smoothly throughout the day.
Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Jump in wherever needed to support the rest of the team.
What We're Looking For:
Previous barista experience is strongly preferred; café, restaurant, or food-service experience is desirable.
Experience preparing espresso beverages is preferred.
Comfortable working with both coffee and food.
Strong customer-service skills and a genuinely friendly attitude.
Able to work efficiently when the café gets busy.
Comfortable learning recipes, procedures, and drink standards and following them consistently.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Comfortable using a POS system.
Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
Dependable and punctual.
Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done.
The Right Person
The right person for this position is someone who likes café work — the pace, the people, the food, and the little details that make a good experience great.
You don't need to know everything on day one. We can teach our specific menu, recipes, and procedures. But we're looking for someone who already understands hospitality, has a good work ethic, learns quickly, and genuinely enjoys taking care of customers.
