Physical Requirements:.
• Ability to stand, sit, and carry out tasks throughout a full shift, with appropriate meal breaks.
• Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, and crouching as needed.
• Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with our many tools and equipment provided.
• Capable of assessing weights, judging distances, and working at various heights.
Job Description:
Machinist Trainee Responsible to learn set up and operation of all shop equipment. This job will be a trainee-ship leading to eventually work independently with minimal assistance and or supervision. The Trainee will learn established methods and procedures of experienced Journey Level Machinists as well as learn the required tooling needed for the production of assigned tasks. The Trainee will learn part quality and production levels. Duties: Learn under guidance of an experienced Machinist how to set up lathes, mills, drills, cut off saw, cranes, and material handling equipment. Strictly adhere to IMC established Quality Assurance Program. Daily lubrication of machines. Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion. Learn and become proficient reading blue prints.
