AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IS A MONUMENTAL 15”-IN-DIAMETER ORIGINAL VINTAGE MODERN LATHE-TURNED BRONZE VASE THAT DISPLAYS A CLASSIC REDUCTIVE BUT BROAD URN-SHAPE BODY WITH A MODIFIED ABSTRACT GEOMETRIC GREEK KEY DESIGN AROUND ITS MIDSECTION AND A BEAUTIFUL DARK BROWN SURFACE PATINA/FINISH!
Dimensions: The bronze vase measures approximately twelve and one half inches (12 1/2”) in height, fifteen inches (15”) in diameter across the body of the vase, five and one quarter inches (5 ¼”) in diameter across the top, by six and one eighth inches (6 1/8”) in diameter across the base.
Please Note: Weight: This monumental original vintage bronze vase is quite hefty!
Also, Please Note: This bronze vase quite literally turned the vase’s form on a lathe! The circular lathe markings are apparent on the underside bottom and down inside the vase. Next, the various segments of the modified Greek Key design were hand-cut and then in individually soldered to the bronze vase. And then a beautiful dark brown patina/finish was applied.
Provenance: This bronze vase was acquired from an estate in Scottsdale, Arizona. At that time, the bronze vase had been paired with a mahogany wood Henredon credenza designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (ca. 1955-56).
Condition: Generally very good and clean condition with some variation to the dark brown patina/finish, some wear to the underside bottom base where the vase meets the counter, a few small surface scratches and minor markings but nothing significant. Overall, this is still a beautiful modernist bronze vase!
Price: $250.00 (firm and cash only)
