This vintage King Charles Spaniel is brightly colored & glittered and in the older days given as a prize at carnival shows and fairs.
Sometimes called chalkware these plaster figurines only need gentle dusting with soft dry brush. Never used water or it can get damaged. Used as mantle pieces or by the hearth.
Place on flat surfaces and away from direct light to preserve the paint.
It is in the likeness of Staffordshire mantle or hearth dogs.
This one has a crack which can be seen when held, and someone in the past has repaired it, hence the low price.
If you do not care about the antique value, I suppose one could spray it all one color, and hide the crack entirely to use in modern decor.
