It's a lot in every conceivable way. I've owned this bass for roughly 20 years (which is a crazy thing to realize, as I still remember the day I bought it clearly), and it's one of my favorite instruments of all time, both in terms of raw beauty and sonic power. However, it is a physically intense instrument, and my hands have begun letting me know when I've pushed them too hard, so this one has been languishing unplayed for a while. Now, the spectre of a new vehicle beckons with its grim and bony finger, so hard decisions must be made.

Mark Eshenbaugh was an apprentice of Carl Thompson and it shows, with elaborate, unique woodworking throughout and a distinctive woody growl to the tone. The low B is massive and you can feel the bass shake as you play. It's so thin, it often feels like the top of an acoustic under your hands. The nut is very wide, neck profile moderately thick and flattened on the back.

Includes custom fit Protec Contego semi-rigid case. Will also include a huge Levy's padded leather strap with Straplocks installed.

This bass also has a minor claim to fame in that it has a cameo in the film The Gospel, which was shot here in Atlanta. It's being played in the church band in at least one of the numbers, which is pretty cool.

Something like this is very difficult to value compared to the average P-bass, so if you're seriously interested, feel free to talk numbers with me. I am mainly interested in cash, but I would consider partial trades for high quality lightweight instruments of smaller scale (34" or shorter 4/5-strings in the case of basses) with some cash coming my way.
