Super rare late '70s/early '80s semi-hollow built by Matsumoku. The vast majority of the MIJ Emperors are full depth, fully hollow. This one is like an L-5 CES crossed with a 335. Spruce top, maple b/s, 3-piece maple neck, ebony board, ~17" lower bout, 25.5" scale BUT ~2" depth with center block. It is one of the best-sounding humbucker guitars I've owned, but because of the size + center block, it's too heavy for my bad shoulder these days at 9.5 lbs!
This one is a player, with plenty of dings, playwear, etc. No breaks or structural damage, but has the common Gibson-style finish separation near the nut, particularly on the bass side. Neck is straight, truss rod works and plays great with a slim neck profile.
Includes the only gig bag I could find that will fit it. I've never been able to find a 17" thinline case with the right proportions. The waist is in a pretty different place from most semis.
No trades on this one, but will consider reasonable cash offers.
