Barista / Café Server (Weekend Availability Required)About Us: Santa Barbara Hives is a neighborhood café, bakery, and retail space at 516 Palm Ave in Carpinteria. Alongside our specialty coffee, French pastries, and artisan sourdough, we are dedicated to sustainability and supporting the local bee population through our sourced honeys and retail goods. The Role: We are seeking a reliable, high-energy Barista / Café Server to join our team. In this fast-paced role, you will craft specialty espresso drinks, serve our fresh artisan baked goods, and help guests explore our shop. Because our weekends are our busiest times, consistent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability is a requirement. Key Responsibilities: Craft & Serve: Prepare and serve espresso, coffee, and specialty drinks. Bakery & Food Service: Package and beautifully present our artisan pastries, sourdough sandwiches, and food orders. Guest Experience: Greet guests warmly, handle POS transactions, and share a bit about our unique local honey and products when asked. Shop Upkeep: Maintain a clean coffee bar, restock the bakery display case, and keep the indoor/outdoor seating areas pristine. Qualifications: Mandatory Availability: Must be fully available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts (including early morning openings or weekend midday rushes).Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy weekend rushes. Previous café or food service experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person with a great attitude!
