Selling a rugged, winter-ready pulk sled in great functional condition. Unlike cheap plastic sleds that crack and track poorly, this is built from a high-quality orange fiberglass hull. Perfect for winter expeditions, hauling gear for ice fishing, backcountry camping, or a DIY ski pulk conversion project.
The heavy-duty polyethylene runner panel on the bottom is securely riveted on for permanent hull protection. This protects the fiberglass hull from rocks/roots, reduces friction, and ensures the sled tracks perfectly straight behind you. Features a center-zipper canvas cover that opens up for easy loading and weather protection. Clean interior. Ideal for winter expeditions or ice fishing.
Backcountry Ski Pulk Potential:
My original plan was to convert this cargo sled into a rigid-pole ski pulk for hands-free winter touring, backcountry skiing, or snowshoeing (see picture #6 for an example setup). By mounting two attachment points to the front nose rim, you can hook up rigid tow poles to a hip harness, which prevents the sled from sliding into the back of your legs on downhills.
I decided not to finish the project, but I am including an example picture (picture #8) showing the exact conversion parts needed (a pulk harness, 6-foot split poles, and mounting hardware) which are easily available online. It's a perfect DIY project to get a premium winter touring rig at a fraction of retail cost.
