If you know about this machine, then you know it is put together like no other machine. It is extremely robust and built like a tank. Other machines may have thin kettles measuring only 1/16” of an inch thick. This machine's kettle is 3/16” of an inch thick. So, it retains the kettle hot between batches.
This machine has two internal heat shields. One is on the operator's side, the other towards the back to protect the back of the controls. Unlike other machines that have walls that get extremely hot, the heat shields help protect the operator from accidental burns.
You can also change the side the handle attaches to so you have a choice where your handle will be placed.
The outside of the kettle and entire top and bottom of the lid around the kettle are porcelain coated, which helps immensely when cleaning it.
The kettle’s exterior is sealed (welded) all around the lid unlike most other machines. This prevents oil running down the outside of the kettle and unto the burner below after you dump unto the sifting bin.
I usually prepare 8 cups of raw popcorn per batch which yields slightly over 5 large 8x24 bags of finished kettle corn.
I doubt you'll find a nicer Ye Olde Kettle Cooker around. If you've been eyeing one of these, I think you've found it.
Comes with a stainless steel (copper colored) catch/sifting bin which attaches to the rest of the machine so no separate sifting table is needed. You can set it on top when not in use as shown on the last photo. I'll throw in a wooden stirring paddle, and a couple of measuring cups and an oil ladle. You'll need a propane tank and of course, popcorn, sugar, oil, salt, and bags.
