Dedicated drywaller - New Construction in Burnaby (Burnaby)
Arkay Contracting is searching for a dedicated and experienced drywall person for a multi-family residential construction site in Burnaby near Brentwood Mall area. We are a casual labour construction services provider operating in the lower mainland of BC for 20 years!
Primary Duty:
To complete the tasks outlined by the supervisor to allow construction to move forward on the site. You will be performing various drywall related duties. Boarding, taping, mudding, and finishing. You must be proficient in all of these areas already as we are a casual labour services provider we don't train workers on new skills and tasks.
Health & Entry Requirements:
At least 2-3 years experience working on construction sites. Commercial or residential, high rise / low rise or town homes & custom homes with your primary job duties relating to installing and finishing drywall.
● Capable of lifting 30 lbs. or more repeatedly
● Possess all necessary PPE (hard hat, high visibility vest, steel toe work
boots)
● English skills sufficient to read and understand safety meetings, verbal
instructions, warning labels/signs etc.
● Able to perform manual labour for several hours at a time
● Possess a valid Canadian Social Insurance number
General Responsibilities:
● Follow work site/ WSBC safety rules
● Follow instructions from Foreman & Superintendents
● Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
● Ask questions when unsure
Duties & Mandatory skills:
Cutting drywall to size
Boarding
Taping
Mudding
Sanding
Finishing
Possess all your own drywall related tools.
Compensation:
Starting wage between $28-$32 PER HOUR, D.O.E
