Lead guitarist-songwriter in Burnaby / Vancouver, and a rhythm guitarist, seeking bass, drums, and a singer for original Christian funk, blues, and danceable pop. Songs are for community meals, public events, and other bookings outside a Sunday service: catchy, danceable, clearly Christian, so people stay for the tune and hear about God and Jesus.
I write the material and set the musical direction. Looking for solid intermediate players, close to our level: in time, able to hold the pocket, and able to learn a song from a chart or a demo. Not beginners, and not session pros. Bring your own gear. Two evenings a month, rehearsing and finishing songs, then playing when a suitable event comes up.
First step is one two-hour trial on a fixed date. After the date is locked, I send one song: demo, chart, and lyric. We learn and play that song. The rest comes only if the trial fits.
Reply with your instrument, general neighbourhood, a clip of your playing (phone is fine), and which evenings you can keep. No clip, no reply. Burnaby, New Westminster and Vancouver only. Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Langley, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and similar are too far.
