In 1983 the Edmonton Oilers planned to issue a set of dollar coins featuring seven players and ordered the coins from the Canadian Mint. Businesses in the Edmonton area accepted the coins at a value of ONE dollar. Due to low demand and problems with three players not being issued, the promotion petered out. Wayne Gretzky was the most prominent player while the other players could not match his demand. These four coins are still in their original packaging so they are in mint condition. If you're looking for a limited Wayne Gretzky collectible, these coins should be considered. Asking $5 for a single coin or will let all four coins go for $15.
