I'm 34, new to the Burlington area, alcohol sober, and looking to connect with some fellow musicians, make some friends, and hopefully get some good jams going!
I've been drumming since I was 13, so about 20 years of experience. I'm an all-around percussionist, not the strongest at reading sheet music, but I've got a good ear, a feel for rhythm, and plenty of experience behind the drums. I can also sing!
Musically, I'm pretty genre-spanning. I'm especially into African rhythms, reggae, rock, punk, and anything with a good groove. I can hold my own with some jazz, although it's not my strongest area. I'm open to experimenting and blending styles. Country and traditional bluegrass aren't really my thing, unless there's more of a rock/jam-band influence, something along the lines of Railroad Earth.
I have a full acoustic drum kit in storage that's available if you've got the space to set it up. Currently, I've got an electronic kit that I play and practice on, along with my djembe.
I'm also part of the LGBTQ+ community and would love to meet other queer musicians and LGBTQ+ friendly folks around town.
Not looking for anything super serious or committed at the moment. Really just hoping to find some good people, play some music, have some fun, and build a few connections in my new community. I am alcohol sober!
If that sounds like your kind of thing, hit me up! I'm always down to see where the music takes us.
