My father had purchased this years ago to add to his military collection > it is a WW 1 recruitment poster by E.G. Renesch to get Bblack Americans to enlist in the infantry > > the title of the print is "Colored Man Is No Slacker"> the print is an excellent example of war propaganda to enlist a group of men to fight overseas for the Red, White and Blue> the Black American unit marches with the American flag aloft as a couple tenderly say goodbye> illustrates a time when segregation was also the law of the land > the print measures 22" long x16" wide > with the original frame it measures 24" long x20" wide > the wood frame has beading that is missing in sections> definitely shows its age which is over 100 years
