Gildred Racing is looking for an experienced car builder to join our growing custom car shop.
We are not simply looking for a mechanic. We need someone with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience and a strong working knowledge of all aspects of ground-up restoration and custom vehicle building.
The right person should be comfortable taking a project from the bare chassis through completion and have experience with fabrication, mechanical systems, suspension, brakes, electrical, drivetrain installation, troubleshooting, air conditioning, interior, assembly, fit and finish, and the countless details involved in building a truly custom vehicle.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Motivated and takes pride in their work
Able to work independently and solve problems
A fast learner who can adapt to unique projects
Organized and capable of seeing a job through
Experienced with fabrication and custom vehicle assembly
Comfortable troubleshooting and developing solutions when there isn’t an instruction manual
Research & development experience is a major plus
Please understand: this is not an entry-level mechanic position. If your experience consists of changing your own oil, doing occasional work on your car, or watching your uncle work on his, this isn’t the position for you.
This is a serious opportunity for the right person who already has the skills, wants to continue learning, and wants to become an important part of a growing shop building unique, high-level custom cars.
Minimum 5 years professional experience required.
