I have a collection of high-end technical hiking gear, niche/rare vinyl records, house junk, and electronics sitting in Buckhannon. Things that don't sell well at yard sales due to the limited knowledge or interest of locals.
I want someone local who already knows how to sell online to handle the entire listing side, I am savvy enough to do this, but I just don't have the time or patience. I do not want to answer buyer messages or handle customer service. I would rather have my feet stomped on by elephants than deal with tire kickers.
The items will stay at my house until sold. You come to Buckhannon to look at inventory, take clean photos, research market value, accurately grade condition, write listings, and field all buyer questions. When an item sells, you let me know which specific items, send me a shipping label if need be, and I will pack the item and ship it out myself.
Compensation is a straight 30% cut of net proceeds. Net proceeds mean the final sale price minus platform fees (eBay, Discogs, Mercari) and shipping costs. Any buyer returns or disputes come out of net proceeds. When an item sells, funds clear, and the item arrives to the customer, you take your 30%, hand over my 70%, and provide a transaction summary. Payouts happen weekly or per sale. Since sales run through your seller account, you handle your own platform 1099-K tax reporting.
We start with a trial batch of 3 to 5 items to test listing quality, communication, and payout promptness.
You must have active and reputable eBay, Discogs, Mercari, or similar accounts with established positive feedback. You need to know how to grade vinyl and electronics without getting scammed. You need reliable transportation to Buckhannon.
