For sale are Single-bit Axe Handle Collars and
Double-bit Axe Handle Collars
They are very thick leather pieces that fit over the handle of an axe down by the blade or bit and tightly
fitted with leather lacing or 550 paracord (color of your choice). It protects the wood handle from miscues,
usually common when the user is tired or distracted.
I have chewed up a few wood handles myself over time.
The leather has taken the heat off the wood and saved at least 2 handles
for me in the last few years since I started using a guard.
I have designed my own patterns.
They are Handmade by me with USA Grade American Full Grain Leather.
They come in 3 different styles or sizes.
- One is for a Single-bit axe
- Second is for a Double-bit axe
- Third is for a hatchet or camp axe
- I can also make one for a garden pickaxe
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS: Tell me what kind of axe you have and measure around the handle as close to the blade as you can get. THEN send me a message with 2 pieces of information (type of axe and measurement of collar fitment) so I can make sure you get the collar that will fit.
In the pictures included the collar on the single bit axe has been used many times. It is best represented in the next to last picture. Showing that just gives you an idea of how tough these things are.
