"R`ovsces", the strange-tundra opera is an experimental science fiction feature indie film written and directed by XXHE. It is in the preproduction phase in Brooklyn, NY with a team of local artists who have come together to bring it to life.
Set to music by a seventeen year old Ж alone in their room as a kid, the score sat at a length of seven hours, taking two years to complete, unscathed and hidden for years. When finally brought to the light, people were shocked to find that the opera's score was not only written using the sounds of melting ice but was also tied very closely to a full length space opera set in deep space.
After bringing the opera to the stage in San Francisco, winter of 2024, with psychadelically garmented dancers doused in chiffon and heavily saturated lighting, Xxhe for the first time brought to life the infamous main characters of R`ovsces, the light entities. Creatures who are made entirely of light, auroric in form, and who float through the sky ethereally singing an unspeakable language.
They dwell on a frozen, tundric planet with no season except winter, where snow always covers the ground and beautiful icey landscapes decorate the globe.
With the added edition of ice music or "strange-tundra" music composed using the sounds of frozen water, R`ovsces is a truly unusual project incorporating heavily saturated dream sequences, alien creatures, a variety of languages, and experimental production design.
