Have you always wanted to write songs but don't know where to start? Or do you have a million ideas but struggle to turn them into actual songs? Simply feeling overwhelmed (or just feeling) and want a creative outlet?
I'm a singer-songwriter and independent artist offering one-on-one songwriting lessons for writers of all kinds with any level of experience.
Whether you're completely new to songwriting or you've been writing for years and want help developing your ideas, I'll help you find your own voice and become more confident in your writing in a safe a judgement free zone.
We'll work on things like:
• Turning ideas, feelings, and experiences into lyrics
• Melody and song structure
• Chord progressions and writing around an instrument
• Developing verses, choruses, and hooks
• Getting unstuck when you have writer's block
• Finding your unique songwriting voice
• Breaking down songs you love to understand why they work
• Developing and polishing your own original songs
No prior songwriting experience is required. You don't need to be able to read music or know music theory — just bring your ideas and a willingness to write, experiment, and be open.
Lessons can be tailored to whatever you're interested in: pop, indie, singer-songwriter, alternative, folk, or anything in between.
Lessons: One-on-one, [online, but could do irl if in the New York area!]
