We're an employee-owned whole-animal butcher shop in Prospect Heights and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We provide local, sustainably-sourced meats alongside your favorite international provisions (think bags of MSG and Duke’s mayonnaise) to our rad-as-hell customers and neighbors. We aim to provide professorial know-how and an approachable, warm atmosphere, all while jamming to bitchin’ tunes and having a good time.
Prospect Butcher Co. is seeking part-time (and maybe full-time) help! We currently have an opening for a porter/dishwasher to help us keep our shop clean and tidy.
Above all, you will act as a custodian for our space. You'll wash dishes, manage the garbage and recycling, clean equipment, sweep and mop floors, organize paper goods, and keep our chemicals fresh in their dispensers.
You need to:
-Be able to handle the physical demands of the role: standing for long stretches, lifting 40+ lbs., etc.
-Be willing to jump in wherever help is needed; experience isn’t required, but a checked ego is
-Be punctual and eager to learn
