We're seeking a detail-oriented, energetic Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, takes pride in consistent, high-quality work, and is a reliable team player with strong communication and organizational skills. They work well alongside a team of diverse personalities and take direction with a positive attitude.
You'll play an important role in the growth of our prepared foods kitchen, learning new recipes and techniques as our offerings, space, and schedule grow. You must be able to work well with your teammates, manage your time effectively, and execute consistently, day in and day out. We value hard workers with excellent time management skills and emotional maturity when under pressure.
Responsibilities
Start the prep day at 6AM, taking assigned tasks from the Lead Prep Cook and working through them in order of priority.
Communicate your needs, progress, and handoffs clearly with the Lead Prep Cook and our Cook and Pack teams.
Execute daily production with energy, speed, and accuracy, day in and day out.
Learn new recipes, techniques, and standards through training with the Lead Prep Cook and Kitchen Operations Manager.
Follow all DOH and internal food safety standards, including temperature logs, chemical dilution, glove use, and sanitation practices.
Maintain strong attendance, knife skills, organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
Contribute to a collaborative, respectful team environment.
Keep workstations, floors, storage areas, and walk-ins clean and organized throughout the shift.
Properly label, date, and store all prepared items using FIFO protocols to minimize waste and ensure food safety.
Continuously improve by refining techniques, learning new skills, and incorporating feedback.
About you:
2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen
Fluency in Spanish and English is a plus
Strong knife skills and a commitment to consistency
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for 8+ hours
A positive and collaborative attitude
Takes direction and feedback well
Always ready for a challenge and eager to learn and improve
