Organic Transit ELF is a three-wheeled, solar-assisted and pedal-electric vehicle made for short daily trips. Organic Transit’s ELF, (E.L.F. is an acronym for Electric, Light and Fun) is the brainchild of Durham, NC transportation entrepreneur Rob Cotter. I had been following the progress of the company soon after its Kickstarter in 2013 when. “The ELF peaked my interest for several reasons.”
Although the ELF, is legally a bike, it has a weatherproof shell, a solar-powered electric motor and gets the equivalent of 1,800 miles per gallon. The 16 amp battery allows the ELF to travel 20-45 miles, reach speeds up to 25 mph. It can carry up to 350 pounds and has enough cargo space to transport several bags of groceries.
Comes with a new battery. I have been away for eight months of the year for the past three years taking care of my mom and just haven’t had time to ride.
