Fritz Cocktail Bar is seeking an experienced Front of House Captain — a hands-on hospitality leader responsible for leading service, supporting the team, and ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience.
This is a leadership role first. Our captains oversee the entire front-of-house operation, coach the team throughout service, engage with guests, and step in wherever they’re needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly. Cocktail bartending experience is required, but the primary focus of this position is hospitality, leadership, and operational excellence.
This is an opportunity to help shape the culture and standards of a growing cocktail bar.
The Role
Full-time • 40 hrs/week
$15/hour base pay + tips
Approx. $1,600/week ($83k/year) including tips (before taxes)
As FOH Captain, you’ll lead your assigned shifts by setting the tone for hospitality, ensuring smooth service, and supporting the operation wherever you’re needed.
Some shifts are small and hands-on, with just one or two other team members, while busy weekends involve leading a larger team and coordinating a fast-paced service. Whether you’re greeting guests, supporting the bar, helping on the floor, or coaching the team, your primary responsibility is ensuring an outstanding guest experience and a well-run shift.
Captains typically work primarily at one location but may occasionally support our other venues.
Responsibilities
• Lead and support the front-of-house team throughout service
• Deliver exceptional hospitality and build genuine guest connections
• Direct the flow and pace of service
• Coach and support bartenders, servers, and runners in real time
• Jump in wherever needed to keep service running smoothly
• Run pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities
• Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and confidence
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and DOH standards
• Handle comps, voids, cash management, and end-of-shift responsibilities
• Foster a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture
What We’re Looking For
• Leadership experience in a busy restaurant, cocktail bar, or hospitality environment
• Outstanding hospitality instincts and a genuine passion for guest service
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• Calm, organized, and decisive under pressure
• Cocktail bartending experience and the ability to support the bar when needed
• Professional, reliable, and accountable
