Seeking a Professional Italian Restaurant Waiter
Baby John’s is seeking an experienced professional waiter with strong Italian restaurant experience.
This is not a casual slice-counter position. Our pizza slices are to-go only.
The restaurant has two distinct service periods:
Lunch: Fast-paced, high-volume service with Italian dishes, pizza, calzones and specialty items.
Dinner: Full sit-down Italian restaurant service with tablecloths, wine service and a complete Italian dinner menu.
We are looking for someone who understands professional table service and can move effortlessly between a busy lunch and a polished dinner service.
Requirements
- 5+ years of NYC restaurant serving experience
- Italian restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of professional table service
- Must know proper tray service
- Comfortable presenting and serving from a wine list
- Knowledge of Italian food and classic Italian dishes
- Able to explain menu items, ingredients and specials
- Clover POS experience preferred
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Polished, professional appearance and manners
- Excellent customer-service skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well with a team
- Must be comfortable in both fast-paced lunch service and formal sit-down dinner service

POSITION DETAILS
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.35 per hour + tips
Estimated Earnings: $900+ weekly
Expected Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
