Front Desk Manager at a Therapeutic Massage Studio in Fort Greene (Part-Time, $20/hr)
Melt Massage & Bodywork is a therapeutic and medical massage studio in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. We’ve been building a warm, down-to-earth community in our space since 2013. We’re a family-run business, and we look for people who are smart, thoughtful and grounded, and who know that a sense of humor makes work (and life) better.
Our front desk team is the first voice and face of Melt, and a big part of why clients love us and keep coming back. We’re looking for a Front Desk Manager to join that team.
The basics
- Part-time, about 22–28 hours a week, with extra hours sometimes available
- At least four weekday shifts plus one weekend shift
- $20/hr, with room for raises as you grow in the role. Training is paid at $18/hr and usually lasts 2–3 weeks.
- Massage Perks!
- Room to grow: for the right person, this role can grow into a bigger management role in our studio over time
What you’ll do
- Be the friendly, knowledgeable voice of Melt by phone, email and text
- Book appointments and help clients find the right therapist and session for what they need
- Help keep our therapists’ schedules full by finding the right clients for open spots
- Keep a busy, never-ending inbox organized, prioritized and answered
- Work in Phorest (our booking software) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Calendar) every day
- Support our massage therapists and keep their days running smoothly
- Open and close the studio, both the physical space and the computer side
- Keep the space clean and fresh, including washing and folding linens in our in-house machines
- Help our desk staff manager with marketing and growth projects as needed
You might be a great fit if you are
- Warm and engaging, and you stay that way when the phone is ringing and two clients walk in at once
- Highly organized and great at juggling many things at once
- Extremely detail-oriented (perfectionists welcome :)
- A clear, thoughtful communicator, in person and in writing
- Calm and professional in tricky situations
- Reliable and punctual, and someone who takes ownership
- Comfortable working within systems, and good at spotting ways to improve them
- A team player who’s easy to work with
- Looking for a long-term role
Bonus points (not required): experience in healthcare, bodywork or front desk work, and some flexibility in your schedule.
