We are a woman-owned residential painting company serving Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. We’re looking to build long-term relationships with experienced subcontractor crews who take pride in their work and treat clients’ homes with care. Our projects range from apartment repaints and move-in preparation to more detailed work in condos, co-ops, and brownstones. We value thoughtful preparation, clean finishes, reliable communication, and a professional client experience from start to finish.
WORK:
Interior painting of walls, ceilings, doors, and trim, along with surface preparation, patching, caulking, and plaster repair as specified for each project. Experience with skim coating, wallpaper removal, or decorative finishes is welcome—please tell us about your specialties.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• An established crew with strong residential painting experience and recent references.
• A consistent team and a designated onsite lead who takes responsibility for workmanship and completion.
• Careful protection of floors, furniture, stone, fixtures, hardware, and building common areas.
• Thorough preparation and clean, even finishes, including attention to edges, corners, trim, and easily missed areas.
• Reliable scheduling and prompt updates about progress, delays, or unexpected conditions.
• Respect for occupied homes, client belongings, building rules, and agreed work hours.
• Thorough cleanup and an internal inspection before presenting a job as complete.
We understand that touchups can be part of a painting project. What matters is that the crew identifies and addresses issues before handoff and follows through professionally when corrections are needed. We want partners who are comfortable discussing quality openly and working toward a consistent standard.
HOW WE WORK TOGETHER:
Our company provides the project scope, approved color information, client coordination, and quality expectations. Pricing, materials responsibilities, scheduling, and payment terms are agreed upon before each project.
We conduct onsite quality checks and coordinate the client walkthrough. Changes to scope, pricing, or scheduling should go through Undertone so everyone receives clear, consistent information.
Professional conduct is essential, including no alcohol or smoking onsite and no use of client food or belongings without permission. Keys and access items must be handled responsibly, returned as arranged, and the home secured before departure.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Your own tools, equipment, and reliable transportation.
• Current insurance and applicable licensing, with documentation available (must be licensed & insured company / firm)
• Ability to meet NYC building access and insurance requirements for assigned projects.
This is project-based subcontract work, with the opportunity for an ongoing relationship as suitable projects become available.
To apply, please send:
• Your name, business name, phone number, and service area.
• Typical crew size and who would lead our projects onsite.
• A brief description of your experience and specialties.
• Recent project photos, including closeups of trim, edges, and finished details..
• Your availability and confirmation of insurance and applicable licensing.
We’re growing very quickly and interested in dependable partners who care about the details and want to build a lasting working relationship.
