Established and Unique 15-Piece Jazzy-Punky 2nd Line Brass Band Seeks Trumpet
Must have chops and positive attitude
Must be able to rehearse weekly on Mondays 7pm-9pm in either Brooklyn or downtown Manhattan.
Must answer texts / emails promptly.
Gigs range from low-key community and charity affairs to large/high-profile events with major media coverage, wedding, festivals, guerrilla art events, parades etc.
Must be willing to dress up in costume & get funky, and have a good time while playing music that is complex, diverse, and fun.
We have many original compositions, as well as brass band "classics" which you must be able to learn primarily by ear.
The members are very friendly, and there is a lot of room for new compositions, soloing, and creative expression. Ability to tour a plus.
This is a community group and not a big $ group. The $ can be nil, and upwards to reasonable. There are many perks which will feed the soul and bring you much adoration. This is a group which fulfills our civic responsibilities through playing music.
No mercenaries - if you are looking for a big $ gig, please do not reply.
