My name is Will Haywood Smith and I've been a professional touring musician in NYC since 2010. I have taught drum lessons to students of all ages and ability since 2008, both privately and at various institutions.
I like to get people playing music they love as quickly as possible. My curriculum stems from everything I have been taught, and everything I have learned as a professional musician. I place a strong emphasis on technique and efficiency, but ultimately aim to try and help each individual find their voice and best represent themselves through their playing.
The things I focus on predominantly are:
Playing songs
Rudiments
Motion
Time playing
Mentality
Personality
