Was it “mutual,” but only after an excruciating four-hour conversation? Did someone straight-up dump you? Are you now emerging into New York City newly single and wondering who the hell you are supposed to be?
I’m casting New Yorkers for DUMPED, a comedic short-form interview series about heartbreak, identity, and who we become after a relationship ends.
We’ll talk about:
What happened (this can be brief, you don't have to tell us everything)
How you’re actually doing now
Which parts of yourself got lost in the relationship
Who you want to become now that you’re single
Then we’ll go somewhere in New York City and find you something that represents that new identity.
Maybe you want to become a mountaineer, so we buy you hiking boots. Maybe you want to become a chef, so we buy you an excellent knife. Maybe you want to start wearing really large hats. The object can be practical, aspirational, fashionable, or completely useless—as long as it means something to you.
COMPENSATION: One item of your choosing, purchasable in New York City, valued at up to $150. This item will be purchased for you during filming and is yours to keep.
YOU SHOULD BE:
18 or older
Based in or able to film in New York City
Recently out of a relationship
Comfortable being interviewed and filmed for social media
Willing to speak honestly
Preference will be given to people whose breakup was either “mutual” or who were unequivocally dumped. This is not a dating show, and you do not need to insult or publicly identify your ex.
